Compassionate Ministries for July Member of the Month
The Chamber congratulates Compassionate Ministries on being chosen as the Member of the Month for July.
Compassionate Ministries is a poverty relief organization serving southern Adams County. CMN was started in 1986 and has been under the direction of Rev. Don Sauls for many of those years. They work to help people pay their electric, water, gas and other types of heating; medical co-pays; transient help; and school supplies for children. They also have a food bank to go to people in dire need of food for their families.
CMN receives funds to help those in need from the local churches of the southern Adams County area and from individuals and businesses that donate. They are also funded by grants from the Lutheran Foundation of Northeast Indiana, The United Way, and Adams County Community Foundation. The thrift shop also brings in funds that are used to help more families in need.
The Help Agency is open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10am-2pm. It is closed the second Tuesday of each month to accommodate Rev. Sauls’ out-of-town meetings. The thrift shop is open Tuesday –Friday from 10AM to 5 PM and on Saturdays from 10 AM to 2 PM. Volunteers are there to run the thrift shop. If you would like to get involved, contact Rev. Don Sauls (director) to start lending a hand to this great cause.
The Berne Chamber is pleased to have Compassionate Ministries as our July 2013 Member of the month.
