Tour Itinerary
 

Berne, Indiana, would like to welcome you to a friendly Swiss, Mennonite and Amish community. Berne offers many attractions. These attractions include one of the largest Mennonite churches in the United States, a Swiss Heritage Village, an Amish farmstead, an upholstered furniture factory tour, craft & antique malls, and the last covered bridge on the historic Wabash River. The Swiss heritage and old-world charm of our city, along with the simple lifestyles of our Amish friends, attracts thousands of visitors annually to our community.

A customized tour of our attractions and surrounding community is available, complete with your very own "step-on" tour guide. Your itinerary may include a country buffet, tour of Berne Furniture Company, tour of one of the largest Mennonite church buildings in the country at the First Mennonite Church, shop and browse time, and a last stop of pie and coffee in one of our local restaurants. You may also tour Swiss Heritage Village, Limberlost State Historical Site, Hitzer Stove Inc., and Amishville USA.

Berne, Indiana is located 130 miles northeast of Indianapolis, Indiana, and 35 miles southeast of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Access to Berne is available on Interstate 69 at the State Road 218 Exit from the west, and also off Interstate 75 at the US Hwy. 33 Exit from the east. You will find Berne at the intersection of US Hwy. 27 and St. Rd. 218.
